  19. How long will ipage remember my UserID & password?

1. What does Remember my UserID & password mean?
It means you don't have to login to ipage every time you visit. Check the box next to Remember my UserID & password to set up auto-login on ipage. Your computer will store your UserID and password, and when you go to ipage's address (ipage.ingramcontent.com or ipage.springarbor.com), ipage will recognize you. The result will be that you'll go straight into ipage without logging in every time. (For security purposes, you will be asked to re-enter your UserID and password to access specific areas of ipage such as Account Management or Change Settings.)

2. How do I save my UserID & password so I don't have to login every time I visit ipage?

Your computer will store your UserID and password, and when you go to ipage's address (ipage.ingramcontent.com or ipage.springarbor.com), ipage recognizes you. 3. Should I check Remember my UserID & password?
That depends on your situation. Using auto-login is great if you're the only person who uses that computer. If you share a computer with others, you may not want to have ipage remember your UserID and password for security reasons. The computer can only remember one distinct UserID and password for ipage. If you check Remember my UserID & password, just know that other people using ipage on that computer will log in as you. They won't be able to access secured areas of the site such as Account Management or User Details--those sections still require that you re-enter your UserID and password. If you access ipage from a public computer, such as those for patron use in a library or Internet café, do not check Remember my UserID & password.

4. How secure is the auto-login feature?
You are ultimately responsible for the security of your ipage UserID and password. Please take care when using and saving them. If other people use the same computer, we do not recommend using the auto-login feature, as it could allow someone else to sign on using your computer and auto-login. This is especially important if you share a computer with others or if you access ipage from a public place such as patron computers at a library or Internet café.

5. What happens if I access ipage from another computer?
The Remember my UserID & password (auto-login) function only works for the computer on which you asked to have your information remembered. If you use another computer, you'll be asked to login using your UserID and password for that session.

6. What happens if I access ipage from a shared computer?
If you share a computer with others, we do not recommend using the auto-login feature. Checking Remember my UserID & password could allow someone else to sign on using your computer and auto-login. If you access ipage from a public computer, such as those for patron use in a library or Internet café, do not check Remember my UserID & password.

7. What if other ipage users also use the same computer?
The computer can only remember one distinct UserID and password for ipage. If you share a computer with other ipage users, you can still opt to have your UserID and password remembered. Just know that other people will log in as you. They won't be able to access secured areas of the site such as Account Management or Change Settings--those sections still require that you re-enter your UserID and password.

8. I'm using someone else's computer and they have the auto-login function on. How do I switch to my own UserID?
Click the Change User link next to your UserID on the upper right-hand corner of any ipage page. You will be automatically logged out and sent back to the main login page. Enter your UserID and password in the login boxes. You'll be logged in as yourself for that session. Note: this does not change the original user's auto-login capability. If you have access to other capabilities on ipage, you can also click the tabs associated with them. On the login validation page that appears, type your UserID and password in the fields and you'll be logged on as yourself.

9. Why do I have to re-login at some areas of ipage?
It's for your protection. Because of the nature of the information in these sections, we want to confirm that only authorized users can access them. If other people use your computer, the re-login function in these areas keeps them from accessing confidential information.

10. I'm using someone else's computer and I need to access areas of the site they can't. How do I do that?
There are two ways:
  • You click the tabs or links that take you to those areas. You go to a page where you're asked to re-login to confirm that you have access to these functions. Although the UserID field is automatically filled with the UserID of the person who auto-logged into ipage, you can enter your own UserID and password and click Login.
  • You can also click the Change User link next to your UserID on the upper right-hand corner of any ipage page. You will be automatically logged out and sent back to the main login page. Enter your UserID and password in the login boxes. You'll be logged in as yourself for that session. Note: this does not change the original user's auto-login capability.
11. Why can't ipage remember my UserID & password in the Account Management and Change Settings areas?
Because of the nature of the information in these sections, we want to confirm that only authorized users can access them. If you haven't completely logged out of ipage and other people use your computer, the re-login function in these areas keeps them from accessing confidential information.

12. How can I un-do the Remember my UserID & password function?
Click the Change User link next to your UserID on the upper right-hand corner of any ipage page. You will be automatically logged out and sent back to the main login page. Click the Cancel Auto-Login link on the login page. After that, every visit to ipage will start at the main login page and you'll have to login manually each time unless you click Remember my UserID & password again.

13. I clicked the Change User link and now I am being asked to login again. Why? I had checked Remember my UserID & password.
When you click the Change User link, you log out as yourself. Therefore, ipage expects you to login as a new user for that session. Clicking Change User does not end your auto-login ability, however. The next time you come back to ipage, you'll automatically login again.

14. How do I log out of ipage once I've used the Remember my UserID & password feature?
We suggest that you click the word Logout in the upper right-hand corner of ipage. That completely logs you out of the session. It does not prevent someone else from signing onto ipage using the same computer and your auto-login, however. That's why we don't recommend using the auto-login feature on shared computers.

15. What if I forget my UserID or password?
We suggest that you write down your UserID and password, and keep them in a secure location. If you do forget your UserID or password, however, you can click the Forgot Your UserID or Password link on the login page. Enter your e-mail address when requested, and an e-mail with the correct userID and password will be sent to the e-mail address ipage has on record for you. If a userID or password cannot be determined, the user will be directed to call or e-mail ICS Tech Support for help.

16. What do I need to know about my ipage password?
The most important thing to know about ipage passwords is that they are case sensitive and should be typed into the password box using the same upper and lowercase characters as in the original. If you find that the ipage password assigned to you is difficult to recall, you can change it at anytime by clicking Change Settings in the upper right-hand corner of any ipage page. Then click User Settings to access the area where you change your password.

    18. When I attempted to login to ipage, my password turned to asterisks (*). Why?
Because this is a password entry area, our login screen displays characters entered in the password field as asterisks to reduce the opportunity for misuse of your account. By displaying your password in this fashion, it helps eliminate the opportunity for someone looking over your shoulder finding out your password.

    19. How long will ipage remember my UserID & password?
Until you change it, click the Cancel Auto-Login link, or if you delete cookies on your computer, since auto-login information is stored as a cookie.
